I started my application to med school last June. 15 months ago! It has been a very long process, as any applicant will tell you, and it only just ended. Today I received my final rejection letter, from Tufts.
Dear ____:
I regret that we will not be able to offer you a position in the Tufts University School of Medicine Class of 2012. The class matriculated on August 25, 2008, and no further additions to the class are now possible.
We want to thank you for agreeing to remain on our wait list this summer. We appreciate your interest in our school, and we regret that we were not able to admit all of the fine applicants whom we had the pleasure to meet this year.
Best wishes,
Thomas M. Slavin
Director of Admissions
Tufts University School of Medicine
The past year has been emotionally stressful for a few reasons, but applying to med school was by far the biggest reason. Now, however, it’s all behind me. I will start the application process anew this coming June, but until then? Out of sight, out of mind.
Heading forward, I have lots to look forward to. I have a job in clinical research. I’m free of the academic rigor of college! And there are some posts over at SDN that I’m just have to share with the world: they’re too funny to pass up.
